Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using feet, but players can also use their head and torso. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with goals at either end. A match typically lasts 90 minutes, divided into two halves of 45 minutes, with a 15-minute halftime interval.

The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) at the international level. Football is the most popular sport in the world, with millions of fans and players globally, and features prominent tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, continental championships, and club competitions such as the UEFA Champions League. The sport emphasizes skills like dribbling, passing, and strategic teamwork, making it a dynamic and widely celebrated athletic endeavor.
